Sleep and alertness

The research area is focused on sleep and recovery associated with stress. The main idea is that stress/load gives long-term effects only when recovery is disturbed.

The research area focuses on improved understanding of how stress-related illnesses and health problems arise and can be prevented in and outside of the workplace.

The research area confirms the importance of behavior for communication between the brain and the immune system, for example, how stress affects the immune system.
