The Institute's research

Stress Research Institute's main focus is stress and recovery in a broad sense and the research focuses on increasing the knowledge of mechanisms, countermeasures and treatments for various stress-related conditions. The long term goal of this research is to contribute to improved public health.

Results are spread to the public and clinicians

Stress Research Institute is purely a research institute, which means there is no patient reception. The Institute's researchers, however, are to some limited extent also clinicians, active for example at the Stress Research Clinic.

The Institute annually publishes the research results in a number of original articles and scientific reviews, as well as a separate series of Stress Research Reports. Based on the results, popular scientific compilations are also spread through books and by the researchers being featured in the media. Stress Research Institute is also the host of a popular science theme day each spring for at Stockholm University.
