Social developments in the last 20 years has meant a significant change in the requirements of the individual, with a higher rate in working life and greater demands on the individual. The orientation of working life towards a governance with rather unclear objectives, but at the same time with high standards of individual responsibility and effort preparedness, removes the borders between work and private life. The result has been a strong development of stress-related illnesses including chronic fatigue syndrome, which has come to be a growing problem within an increasing number of professions.
