Organisation
The organisation is divided into three research divisions with their own research area, a research laboratory and an administration. The Institute is headed by a Managing Board and a Director, who is assisted by a group of management consisting of division managers and a deputy Director.
Within the Institute there is also an interdisciplinary centre of excellence for research on work-related stress and health – The Stockholm Stress Center – which is a collaboration between Stockholm University and Karolinska Institutet.

Staff
The Institute has a total of 31 employees, 27 researchers/research assistants and 4 with administrative tasks. In addition the Institute has some external co-workers for specific research tasks.
